major projects in progress:

Project:
Detect diseases early by introducing a car that can carry out medical examinations, and provide a medical team to establish an organized system for precise treatment.

Where?
Republic of Belarus ,Brest prefecture ,Brest city
(※After working on a five year project in Brest prefecture, Stolin district , [1997~2001] we now center our work on Brest city.)

What we do:
The doctors from Japan and Belarus specialized in cancer work as a team to carry out examinations for thyroid carcinoma in a small local Belarus hospital.

The people and organizations involved to make this team are as followed: Participants from Japan are, Dr. Nobuo Takeichi (the head of Hiroshima thyroid gland clinic), Dr. Kazuo Shimizu (Professor of the Japan Medical University surgical department・head of the Endocrine department) Participants from Belarus are, Dr. Arthur Grigorovich (Bresut state Endocrine medical office), Dr. Larisa Danilova (National medical reeducation center department of Endocrinology), and the Red Cross of Belarus which is the center of our movements.

We used the car for medical examinations which was given to the Red Cross of Belarus as a gift in 1997 (named Yukidaruma Gou) to carry supplies and medical appliances to the team.
(※In February 2005 we gave another car named Yukidaruma 2gou to replace the first one which broke in 2003. )

Professional doctors working in major hospitals from the capital, Minsk, and medical supplies donated from Japan are carried in the Yukidaruma Gou which then travels to the state clinic of Brest to hold checkups for patients. Every examination that takes place is for the people who have been recognized by local doctors that they have a disorder in their thyroid gland. The result of the examinations of each patient is carefully analyzed and confirmed by the cooperation of the doctors fro Japan and Belarus. Twice a year when the group of doctors visits the patients, we also support the medical facilities with appliances and medicines. In addition, since 1998, we have held a symposium regarding medical fields where Japanese doctors could also announce their opinion or ideas. This grew to receive high valuation and attention amongst the local people in Belarus.

From 1999 we have begun to use the Yukidaruma Gou for the transportation of patients from the Brest prefecture to the hospital in Minsk. It has grown to become an important way of traveling to the main hospital in the capital, Minsk, for the patients who are in need to go to checkups with doctors twice a month.

Organizations or groups who support us in Belarus:
*International Red Cross Federation of Belarus
*Medical reeducation center of the Endocrine system
*Red Cross of Belarus
*Brest state Endocrine clinic ,etc.
